The Senior Data and Surveillance Analyst will serve a dual role as the STRIDES Ethiopia project’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer and technical lead for surveillance data analysis, supporting the implementation and performance monitoring of STRIDES activities in Ethiopia. The position will lead data analysis, risk assessment, and surveillance performance reviews to identify gaps, improve data quality, and guide evidence-based corrective actions across polio and broader infectious disease surveillance systems. Working in close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus, and GPEI partners, the Analyst will support the collection, validation, analysis, and interpretation of surveillance data, including AFP, environmental surveillance, and related indicators, and will contribute to the development and implementation of M&E systems, tools, and indicators aligned with project objectives to ensure that data are accurate, timely, and actionable for decision-making at national and sub-national levels. S/He will lead routine surveillance performance reviews, support identification of high-risk and underperforming areas, and provide technical recommendations to strengthen surveillance systems and program effectiveness, while also supporting the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to improve data use across stakeholders. The Data and Surveillance Analyst will work closely with project teams and headquarters staff to monitor progress against work plans, evaluate program effectiveness, and support preparation of technical deliverables, including reports, presentations, and analytical briefs, while contributing to work planning and ensuring that project implementation is informed by high-quality data and aligned with national priorities in Ethiopia.
The expected hiring salary range for this role is indexed to USD 21,333 to USD 30,000 annually for basic salary. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, market pay, and budget.
