JOB PURPOSE

The Banking Business Officer is responsible for promoting the bank’s products and services, fulfilling customer requests, and delivering efficient, high-quality service in compliance with the bank’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. By performing duties professionally, the officer contributes to the bank’s strategic objectives of business growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend to customer queries and complaints professionally and promptly.
• Deliver high-quality service at all customer touch points.
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and staff to foster a service-oriented environment.
• Enhance the bank’s image through proactive customer handling and satisfaction initiatives.
• Ensure strict compliance with regulatory standards, bank policies, procedures, and the code of conduct.
• Perform all tasks in accordance with the bank’s service standards and timelines.
• Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls to protect the bank’s interests.
• Identify and recruit prospective customers through various engagement channels.
• Provide professional advice to customers on suitable bank products and services.
• Promote the bank’s products, services, and digital banking solutions to boost customer engagement.
• Participate in resource mobilization activities to grow deposits and product uptake.
• Handle cash and non-cash transactions accurately and securely.
• Process customer account openings, digital banking requests, and cross-selling activities.
• Assist with account closures, service terminations, and customer-related requests.
• Verify and scan customer and authorized staff signatures for authentication.
• Maintain cash holding positions and ensure accurate reconciliation of cash transactions.
• Prepare cash and non-cash transaction tickets, negotiable instruments, and related documentation.
• Balance daily cash and non-cash tickets with physical cash and account records.
• Complete and submit daily transaction reports for operational transparency.
• Continuously promote the bank’s products, services, and digital solutions.
• Support the branch in achieving sales targets for banking products.
• Handle branch vault cash management when delegated by the Branch Manager.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or branch management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

Work Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Branch banking experience of which 1 year as junior officer
