Job Summary
TZNA General Hospital is seeking qualified Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS) Officers to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The role involves implementing safety systems, monitoring compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental health and occupational safety policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with national regulations and international safety standards
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions
- Organize and deliver health and safety training programs for staff
- Monitor waste management, infection prevention, and environmental hygiene practices
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare reports
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
- Relevant work experience in healthcare or hospital settings is preferred
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Good communication and training skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Occupational Health & Safety is an advantage
- Experience with hospital safety systems (infection prevention, waste management, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
