Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organization (MCMDO) is a national Non- Governmental Organization registered in accordance with the proclamation for Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No 1113/2019 with a certificate No 0022. MCMDO is currently implementing emergency response and development projects in all regions and City Administrations in Ethiopia.

Position: Purchaser Officer

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Head Office (Onsite)

Salary: Based on organization’s salary scale

Job Summary:

Purchaser Officer at MCMDO support procurement and office operations. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly in a professional NGO environment.

Core Duties:

Procurement Support

• Assist in preparing purchase requests, quotations, and procurement documentation.
• Support vendor identification and maintain updated supplier lists.
• Ensure all purchases comply with organizational and donor procurement guidelines.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, receipts, and supplier communications.
• Support audit readiness by organizing procurement files and ensuring documentation is complete.

Assist in preparing procurement reports for management and donors.
Coordination

• Liaise with program and finance teams to ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
• Communicate professionally with suppliers to follow up on orders and deliveries.
• Support logistics arrangements for office supplies and project materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or any other related Social Science fields.
• No prior professional experience required
• Demonstrated ability to manage tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel) and email communication.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under supervision.
• Commitment to ethical standards and donor compliance in procurement.
