About Self Help Africa
Self Help Africa is an international development organization that works through agriculture and agri-enterprise development to end hunger and extreme poverty. The organization has programmes in 15 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and also implements projects in Brazil and Bangladesh. In early 2023 we launched a new five-year organization strategy, which defines shared mission as the alleviation of hunger, poverty, social inequality and the impact of climate change through community-led, market-based and enterprise-focused approaches so that people can have access to nutritious food, clean water, decent employment and incomes, while sustaining natural resources. SHA has been re-registered by the Ethiopian Charities and Societies Agency as a Foreign Charity with a registration number of 0051.

SHA-Ethiopia is now seeking to recruit a project officer who will discharge project implementation, monitoring and other technical support a project entitled “Transforming dairy value chain for improving the livelihood of smallholder dairy producers” focuses on boosting rural livelihoods and nutrition by enhancing production techniques, strengthening value chains and improving the genetics of dairy cows in Siya Deberna Wayu district, North Shewa zone of Amhara Region with the financial support of Irish Aid.
Job Purpose
The position holder is key staff member in overseeing the financial and administration functions for the SHA Project as part of the overall responsibility. The position holder will report directly to the Cluster Coordinator in Dessie with a dotted line to the Head of Finance and Administration (HoFA) in Addis Ababa. He/She will also work closely with the HR and Admin Officer in Addis Ababa to follow up and submit documentation on HR related matters.
