ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Procurement Assistant – Intern position who meet the following requirements.

Required number: One

Reports to: Head, of Procurement Management Department

Duty station: NEBE Head Quarter, Addis Ababa

Duration: Contract for three month

Procurement Assistant – Intern is responsible for providing assistance in the following roles: –

Duties and responsibilities

• Receive purchase requests from different departments and review requests to make sure that requirements or specifications are developed as complete and accurate as possible.
• Receive procured goods and services and check received items from selected suppliers are based on purchase order and according to specification
• Preparing notification letter against the result of the bid evaluation
• Prepare and facilitate payments to suppliers / contractors/ consultants
• Maintain files, including proposal, evaluation, award documents, official contracts, and correspondence of all procurements
• Booking Hotels,
• Booking tickets,
• Check if documents are full when requesting for payment
• Handle any other procurement related activities as requested by the Procurement Management Head or the deputy head.

Education and Work Experience: 

• BA/MA degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, management, Economics, purchasing and supplies management, Marketing or other relevant studies
• 0 – 1 year for BA Degrees or Masters

Knowledge

• Knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
• Learn strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
• Relationship building and communication

Know-How (Skills) (Technical competencies):

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Effective time management to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
