Manager, Digital Financing Services Full Time

Essential Function:

Job Position: Manager, Digital Financing Services

Purpose of the Job: Own the complete conceptualization, algorithm design, risk modeling, and operational lifecycle of the Bank’s automated digital lending, micro-credit, instant overdrafts, and alternative credit scoring mechanisms.

Generic Functions:

• Develop, review and implement policies & procedures, plan /budget of the division
• Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct, culture, & ascertain that subordinates abide by same
• Cultivate a working environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and transparency among staffs
• Provide services as per the service level agreement, follow- up & monitor subordinates to do the same
• Mentor and coach subordinates towards effective career development
• Adhere to internal control system, risk management program of the Bank and NBE’s Directives, rules and regulations
• Adhere to internal control system and risk management program of the Bank

Specific Functions:

• Define and continuously refine the digital lending credit policy, behavioral scoring model parameters, and automated underwriting decision thresholds balancing portfolio growth with Board-approved risk appetite
• Own complete loan portfolio performance metrics: NPL ratios, disbursement volumes, repayment collection rates, and profitability contributions reviewed weekly
• Lead the design and enhancement of STP loan workflows enabling customers to apply for and receive digital credit within minutes, with zero manual underwriting for eligible profiles.
• Coordinate with the Reconciliation & Card Banking Manager to ensure all loan disbursements and repayments are accurately posted to the GL in real time
• Drive integration of alternative data sources (mobile money history, utility payments, behavioral patterns) into credit scoring models to extend credit access to thin-file customers
• Manage two sub-teams: T/L Acquisitions and T/L Collection, aligning both on portfolio growth and quality targets
• Present monthly digital lending performance reports to the Director covering NPL ratios, disbursement volumes, collection efficiency, and strategic portfolio insights

Job Requirement:

• Qualification: MA/MBA/MSc/BA/BSc in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science, Statistics or Banking or other related fields.
• Experience: Seven/Nine 7/9 years of relevant Banking experience of which at least two years as Senior Officer or equivalent in digital lending, automated credit scoring and STP lending workflows essential.

Additional Requirements:

• Certifications: Certified Credit Risk Professional (CCRP) or equivalent, Data Analytics/Machine, Learning certification (advantageous), FRM (Financial Risk Manager)-advantageous, Certified Digital Banker.
• Technical Skills:Credit scoring models (behavioral, psychometric, alternative data), Digital lending engines and STP loan origination platforms, NBE lending regulations, provisioning rules, and consumer credit guidelines
• Behavioral Competencies: Analytical and data-obsessed with ability to design credit algorithms, Risk-disciplined with zero tolerance for portfolio quality deterioration, Strong commercial drive to balance risk appetite with growth ambition, Effective communicator of complex credit analytics to non-technical leadership.
