- The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Addis Ababa is looking for an employee (full-time/40 h) as a
housekeeper for the residence
Starting July 1, 2025.
The main tasks are:
- Assisting in the planning, preparation and realization of events at the Am- bassador’s residence, including formal table service (breakfast, lunch and dinner, receptions, concerts, discussion events, etc.)
- Maintenance and cleaning of the official part of the residence including household management
- Design of floral decorations for social events in the residence

The employment contract is based on the provisions of Ethiopian law, the salary is based on the remuneration scheme for local employees of the German Embassy in Addis Ababa.
About You
Candidates should have the following qualifications and prerequisites:
- Good (oral) knowledge of German or, alternatively, English, knowledge of Amharic desirable
- At least two years of experience in the catering/service sector, preferably in diplomatic/embassy residence
- polite, discreet and cooperative appearance
- Organizational ability, physical resilience, flexibility, reliability and teamwork skills
- Willingness and ability to work with flexible working hours, e.g. also in the evening and in individual cases on weekends or Ethiopian holidays
