Gender Officer Full Time

Job Requirement

Major Duties:

• Plan and prepare reports on gender-related activities and outcomes for internal and external Stakeholders.
• Assess the impact of the project on gender equality and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness about gender issues and build the capacity of Staff and Stakeholders.
• Promote gender equality initiatives within the organization and advocate for the rights of marginalized groups.
• Identify funding opportunities and assist in the development of proposals to support gender initiatives.
• Engage with communities to understand their gender dynamics and incorporate their perspectives into programs.
• Ensure that the organization complies with national and international gender-related laws and agreements

Required Qualification, Experience and Skills

• Qualification: – M.A/M.Sc. or B.A/B.Sc. Degree in Gender Studies, Community Psychology, Organizational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling or any other related field of study
• Experience:     2 years for M.A/M.Sc, 6 years for B.A/B.Sc

Skills for job positions:

• Report writing skill, proficiency in Microsoft Office, XL including publisher and skill in operating relevant office equipment.
• Data management, interpretation and analysis skills; attention to detail; expertise in SPSS is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines; and
• Fluent in English and Amharic. In addition, ability to communicate in other local languages is an asset.
• Work experience in related/similar position in NGOs is preferable.

Duty station: Head Office, Addis Ababa

Condition of employment-:  One year contract with possibility of extension based on performances and continuity of the project
