sequa gGmbH is a globally operating non-profit development organisation. Since 1991 sequa has carried out programmes and projects of international cooperation in close collaboration with the German private sector. sequa offers know-how and long-term experience in capacity development for chambers and associations (BMOs), vocational education and training, private sector development and trade promotion. The organisation is based in Bonn, Germany. sequa employs more than 100 persons (2023) and reported a turnover of EUR 60 m in 2023.
Within the GIZ Program Special Initiative ” Capacity building training in tourism academy “, sequa implements the “The Tourism sector Support Scheme targeting growth orientated Tourism ” project for Arba Minch area in Ethiopia. With this, sequa aims to facilitate capacity building and enhancing the job quality and creating new jobs Ethiopian Tourism sector service providers by increasing their competitiveness and quality service so that their services will satisfy the demand on local and international markets.
Benefiting companies and professional individuals receive flexible and demand-oriented funding (consulting, technical training, on areas of different section of the general topics of capacity building. A special focus will be on Cross-Cutting Training to improve existing service in the market.
sequa has selected areas of the stakeholders in different levels that have direct benefit for the capacity building to improve their Service through vetting process. These stakeholders provide service, including language and communication skills, use of technology in tourism, use of AI in tourism, networking and collaboration and ethical business practices. The company aims to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency through professional training in the training program. sequa is seeking for high level professional expertise to conduct this training.
The objective of this assignment is to be expected on enhancing the ability of tourism professionals to effectively communicate and present their products through engaging storytelling, modern technology, and ethical business practices. Participants will gain essential skills to improve guest experiences, build strong industry relationships, and leverage innovative tools for business growth contribute to the change management and business growth of tourism and develop training manual on the topics to enhance the capacity of the stakeholders engaged in the tourism sector.
The deliverable includes developing training manual, inception report, field visit and final report on the below topics and conduct a three-day training and follow up coaching
The expert is expected to design and develop the following topics below:
Language and communication skill
Use of Technology in Tourism
Use of Ai in Tourism
Networking and Collaboration
Ethical business practices
