Director, Financial Analysis & Reporting Full Time NEW

Purpose of the Job: To ensure continuous availability and optimal utilization of the Bank’s cash by arranging for cash consignment, timely cash supply and collection, arranging for the withdrawal and deposit of cash to/from issue account with National Bank of Ethiopia, and monitoring and setting cash holding limits. The job holder is also responsible for following up and managing reserve account and check Clarence activities.

Generic Functions:

• Develop, review, and implement functional strategies, policies, procedures, annual plans, and budgets for the Financial analysis and Reporting Department
• Establish and monitor performance targets for the respective work unit, regularly review results against agreed KPIs, identify performance gaps, and implement development, coaching, and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement and achievement of business objectives
• Drive cost effectiveness and operational excellence across the function to build sustainable competitive advantage
• Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment to proactively identify, mitigate, and report operational risks within the department
• Implement and ensure cross-functional collaboration to eliminate departmental silos, ensuring seamless end-to-end process execution
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and transparency across the department
• Implement and manage the process of coaching, mentoring, and leadership development for subordinates

Specific Functions:

• Direct the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and specific bank regulatory reporting requirements
• Oversee the entire financial closing process on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring that all accounts are reconciled, adjustments are posted, and deadlines are consistently met
• Ensure the absolute integrity of the general ledger and all underlying financial data, maintaining a robust and effective internal control environment over financial reporting
• Ensure all financial reporting and analysis activities strictly comply with internal policies and regulatory standards, proactively identifying and mitigating compliance risks
• Lead the comprehensive Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function, including the coordination of the annual financial budgeting and periodic forecasting processes across all business units
• Conduct in-depth financial performance analysis, including variance analysis (budget vs. actual), trend analysis, and detailed profitability analysis by product, branch, and customer segment

• Qualification: MA/MBA/BA in Accounting, Accounting and Finance, Business Management, Management or any other related field.
• Experience: Eight/Ten (8/10) years of relevant work experience, of which at least three years in managerial position.
