1. Background

Adoye Center for Ethiopian Women Empowerment is a civil society organization committed to
advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls in Ethiopia through advocacy,
capacity building, and community-led development programs. As part of its effort to strengthen
financial operations, the organization is seeking to hire a dedicated and trustworthy Cashier.

Job Description

• Position Title: Cashier
• Number of Position: One
• Location: Shagger city, Laga Tafo
• Organization: Adoye CEWE
• Reports to: Finance/Admin Officer
• Duration of Employment: Six (6) Months, with possibility of renewal based on mutual
  agreement
• Salary: Based on negotiation
• Starting Date: April 28, 2025 – May 01, 2025

2. Purpose of the Position

• The Cashier will be responsible for handling all cash transactions, maintaining accurate financial
  records, and ensuring smooth day-to-day cash operations in accordance with Adoye CEWE’s
  financial policies and procedures.

3. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and record cash payments and receipts.
• Prepare payment vouchers and ensure proper supporting documents are attached.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date cashbook.
• Ensure timely banking of cash and cheques.
• Assist in preparing monthly cash reports and reconciliations.
• Support audits by providing required cash documentation.
• Maintain petty cash and ensure appropriate documentation for all expenditures.
•  Ensure safe custody of all cash and related documents.
• Perform any other finance-related duties as assigned.

4. Qualifications and Experience Required

• Diploma or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• No prior work experience required; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel is a plus.
• Strong integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
