• Organization: Adoye Center for Ethiopian Women Empowerment
• Level of Effort: 50%
• Duration of Employment: Six (6) Months, with possibility of renewal based on mutual agreement

• Duty Station: Shagger city, Laga Tafo
• Language Requirement: English, Afan Oromo and Amharic
• Salary: Based on negotiation
• Reports to: Finance and Administration Officer

Background

Adoye Center for Ethiopian Women Empowerment is a civil society organization committed to
advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls in Ethiopia through advocacy,
capacity building, and community-led development programs. We are currently seeking a
qualified and motivated Accountant to support the center’s financial operations.

Purpose of the Role

• The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting in day-to-day financial management,
  maintaining proper documentation, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with
  organizational and donor financial policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records in accordance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
• Support in processing payments, recording transactions, and reconciling accounts.
• Maintain organized records of receipts, invoices, and other supporting documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of financial data in the accounting system.
• Collaborate with program and admin staff to ensure proper financial documentation of project activities.
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

•  Minimum of a Diploma or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience as an accountant working in Civil
  Society Organization (CSO) or NGO.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and CSO financial compliance
  requirements.
•  Experience using accounting software such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, or similar
  platforms is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication skills in English and one or more local languages as well.
