The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Political Parties Documentation and Analysis Expert position who meets the following requirements.

Job Summary

The Political Parties Documentation and Analysis Expert is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and documenting information related to political parties, their policies, activities, and electoral strategies. This role involves conducting in-depth research, preparing detailed reports, and providing valuable insights to support the organization’s understanding of the political landscape and decision-making processes.

Duties and responsibilities

Political Parties Analysis:

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of political parties, including their policies, ideologies, leadership, and electoral strategies.
• Monitor political developments, public sentiment, and opinion polls related to political parties, providing regular updates and reports.

  Documentation and Data Collection:

• Gather and maintain detailed information and documentation on political parties, including official publications, speeches, and campaign materials.
• Create and manage databases and repositories of political parties’ data for reference and analysis purposes.

  Policy Research:

• Research political parties’ positions on various policy issues, such as economy, healthcare, education, and social welfare.
• Analyse party manifestos, policy statements, and legislative proposals to provide insights on their policy agendas.

  Election Strategies Analysis:

• Analyse electoral strategies employed by political parties during elections, including campaign tactics, voter outreach methods, and coalition formations.
• Prepare reports on the effectiveness of different strategies and their impact on election outcomes.

  Political Trends and Dynamics:

• Monitor and analyse political trends, shifts in voter preferences, and emerging political dynamics.
• Prepare trend analysis reports to assist the organization in understanding the evolving political landscape.

  Reporting and Presentation:

• Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations summarizing political parties’ activities, strategies, and trends.
• Present findings to internal teams, stakeholders, and decision-makers, providing clear and actionable insights.

  Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Collaborate with political analysts, researchers, and external experts to enrich the depth and breadth of political parties’ analysis.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including political parties’ representatives and experts, to gather insights and validate research findings.

  Documentation Quality Control:

• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of all documentation and analysis related to political parties.
• Develop and maintain standardized templates and guidelines for documentation and analysis processes.

  Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of interactions, agreements, and outcomes related to political party’s liaison activities.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and analyses on political engagements, contributing to organizational knowledge and strategic planning.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager.

Specification:

Education and Work Experience:

• MA or BA degree in Law, political Science, Human Rights, International Relations or any related field.
• 5 years for Masters or 7 years for Degree relevant Experience.
