Purchasing Assistant Full Time

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Local Purchasing Assistant to join our team in Dukem / Bishoftu. The ideal candidate will support procurement operations, ensure timely purchasing of goods, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

 Location: Dukem, Bishoftu
Employment Type: Long-term (Full-time)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in sourcing, selecting, and negotiating with suppliers
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse/store teams
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and follow up on pending orders
• Compare prices, quality, and delivery terms to achieve cost efficiency
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information
• Support vendor evaluation and maintain good supplier relationships
• Coordinate with finance department for invoice verification and payment follow-up
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and company standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Fluent in Amharic, English, and Afan Oromo

Experience:

• 2–3 years of proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles

• Basic knowledge of procurement procedures and documentation
