Background of IRC
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. Began work in Ethiopia, 1999 in response to severe drought that happened in Ethiopia’s Somali region. Currently, providing assistance in ten different regions implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectoral emergency response.

Please be advised that this recruitment is for Emergency Roster Placement only and does not involve immediate hiring. This position will be based in different districts/woredas under our field office. Final candidates will be added to the roster and will be contacted right away when an emergency response arises.
Job Overview
The IYCF Officer with direct supervision from Health and Nutrition team leader will provide and monitor IYCF activities. S/he mainly provides counseling for mother-to-mother group on IYC-E, technical demonstration on how to breast feed and attachments of the child with mother’s breast. The IYCF-E Officer is responsible for the timely reporting activities and supporting the targeted health facilities (Hospital, HCs and HPs) in any IYCF-E related activities and any other work required by the project in the Target Woreda under our field office. IYCF officer will report directly to the MHNT leader.
