To lead the Sub-National Health Cluster in fostering strong emergency-related partnerships, preparing relevant Health Cluster documents, monitoring of partners’ activities in close collaboration with the Inter-Cluster Coordination Group (ICCG).
Objectives of the Program:
The Health Cluster collectively prepares for and responds to humanitarian and public health emergencies to improve the health outcomes of affected populations through timely, predictable, appropriate, and effective coordinated health action.
Organizational Context:
Under the direct supervision of the National Health Cluster Coordinator, and in close collaboration with the WHO Hub or Suboffice Coordinator, the Sub-National Health Cluster Coordinator will engage with relevant stakeholders to strengthen recovery of the health system as well as to build health system resilience, ensuring equitable access to essential life-saving quality health services to vulnerable populations, with strong emphasis on intersectoral collaboration with relevant clusters such as WASH, Nutrition, Food, and Protection.
Purpose of the Position:
In the context of the WHO Health Emergencies Incident Management System (IMS), at the country level, the incumbent will support the procurement and delivery of supplies and services essentially needed for the efficient and speedy implementation of the WHO’s outbreaks and health emergencies programme at the country level., in full compliance with WHO rules, the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and within delegation of authority.
