1.Communication/ PR Officer

Job Description

Menschen für Menschen Foundation is a nongovernmental, nonreligious and nonpartisan humanitarian organization involved in Integrated Rural Development activities wishes to invite applicants with the following qualifications and experiences to its Project Coordinator Office (PCO).

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Content writing: press releases, case studies, success stories, future articles, news items.
  • Production of communication materials, brochures, pamphlets, booklets, posters, banners and other off-set and digital prints.
  • Production of audio-visual materials: photography, videography and audio-visual editing.
  • Handling guest and media relations including accompanying site visits and provide translation services

Language: A good command of spoken & written English, Amharic & Afan Oromo

Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract

Job Requirements

Qualification:           

  • BA degree in Journalism and communication, Language & Literature or related field.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in related field, good knowledge of content writing, copy editing, photography and videography, knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Aftereffect, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software, experience of guest and media relations.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Computer literacy and IT skills with knowledge of digital tools such as MS Office, Outlook, OneDrive, etc,, Excellent knowledge of spoken, written, reading and understanding of English language and translation knowledge/skill from English to Amharic and Afan Oromo and vice versa to foreigners.

2.College President

Job Description

Menschen fuer Menschen Foundation (MfM) is a nongovernmental, nonreligious and nonpartisan humanitarian organization involved in Integrated Rural Development activities and enhancing education sector in different part of Ethiopia.

The Foundation seeks to hire an experienced, dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the President of the Agro Technical and Technology College (ATTC), based at Harar. The President reports directly to the Country Representative or Deputy Country Representative in Project Coordination Office (PCO).

The primary responsibility of the President is to advance the academic quality and stature of the College that is student centered, innovation driven and entrepreneurial focused. This requires a visionary leader who is committed to strategic planning, inter-disciplinary collaboration, ethical leadership and who is skilled in human and financial resource management. The President will assist with the advancement of ATTC as a Center of Innovation by focusing on increasing enrolment, applied learning, funded research and technology transfer. Creates close collaboration with industries, entities, national research institutions and Universities. The successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and experiences:

Main Duties:

  • Provides overall leadership towards achievement of the highest possible level of excellence in teaching, research and community services in all existing fields of education in the College.
  • Ensure and maintain a climate that is hospitable to creativity and innovation in all existing fields of training.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct, coordinate and guide all academic and administrative activities of the College in accordance with the policies of the government and that of the Foundation.
  • Direct all departments and ensure that they execute or make to be executed policies and directives issued as well as decisions and orders given by the Academic Commission.
  • Prepares its internal policies and regulations and submit to the relevant bodies for approval before application.
  • Direct preparation of annual operational plan and budget of the College and ensures its proper utilization.
  • Represent the College in all academic related focuses from Ministry of Education Bureau, HERQA etc. to acquaint the Foundation with existing and new policy issues and directives.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in the field of Manufacturing or Electric/Electronic or Automotive or Mechanical Engineering and Proven experience of at least 8 years in academic administration and leadership position in Universities and/or Colleges and can provide clearances.

OR

  • MSc degree in the field of Manufacturing or Electric/Electronic or Automotive or Mechanical Engineering, and Proven experience at least 10 years in academic administration and leadership position in Universities and/or Colleges and can provide clearances.

Specific Experiences:

  • Experiences in higher education institution involving teaching, curriculum management and development, research and consultancy.
  • Evidence of effective strategic planning and implementation, with experiences in leadership and managerial role.
  • Evidence of successful academic leadership and managing staff with teamwork.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated experience garnering student feedback to inform program development and commitment to student engagement.
  • Capable of working within a culture of shared governance, academic freedom and due process.
  • Ability to build trust and develop people to work collaboratively.
  • Ability and experiences to foster creative avenues for student engagement.
  • Ability to plan, manage and implement change effectively.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and generate effective solutions.

3.Project Manager

Job Description

Menschen für Menschen Foundation is a nongovernmental, nonreligious and nonpartisan humanitarian organization involved in Integrated Rural Development activities and Project Coordinator Office (PCO) wishes to invite applicants with the following qualifications and experiences.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan project document with the relevant staff which includes activities and developing project budget.
  • Organize and lead project team of the project.
  • Monitor project progress as per accepted monitoring system as per the set deadlines.
  • Manage and controls the physical and financial implementation of project activities.
  • All the time make himself ready for external monitoring visits, reviews, audits and evaluations.
  • Build the capacity of field staff & local partners by facilitating training.
  • Produce quarter, midyear, annual and special donor reports and make sure that the reports are of high quality and submitted on time.
  • Represent MfM in areas where the Foundation works in collaboration with government and different stakeholders.

Duty stations:  Oromia, Amhara and Southern Nation, Nationalities and People  Region

Language: A good command of spoken & written English

Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract

Number required: 3 (Three)

Job Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • MSc in Agriculture, Project Management, Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource development, Soil and Water Conservation, Agricultural Engineering.

Work Experience:           

  • Minimum of 8 year and above experience in project management (managerial position) especially in rural area and has strong knowledge and skill of leadership, team work and understanding of government development priorities and donor regulations and reporting requirements for International Humanitarian Organizations.

4.Health Program Coordinator

Job Description

Menschen für Menschen Foundation Project Coordinator Office (PCO) wishes to invite applicants with the following qualifications and experiences.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all health programs of the Foundation.
  • Prepares and reviews project documents.
  • Ensures that all health activities are feasible, sustainable and cost effective.
  • Responsible for proper implementation and execution of all health activities of projects.
  • Provides technical advice to projects.
  • Follows up project appraisals, project formulations and project agreements.
  • Monitors project activities by regular field visits.
  • Prepares health reports of the Foundation.
  • Provides up to date progress reports to the European offices.
  • Initiates innovative ideas and approaches with regard to health interventions.
  • Represents the Foundation in health and health related issues and communicates and handle issues with governmental and other stakeholders

Duty stations: Addis Ababa, Project Coordinator Office

Language: A good command of spoken & written English

Terms of Employment: Yearly renewable contract

Job Requirements

Qualifications:  

  • MD and MPH

Work Experience:  

  • Minimum of 5 year and above experience in coordinating health program activities especially in rural area and has strong knowledge and skill of team work and understanding of government priorities and donor regulations and reporting requirements for International Humanitarian Non-governmental Organizations.
