Youth and Cultural Development Foundation(YCDF) in partnership with Amref Health Africa implements a USAID funded Integrated Youth Activity (Kefeta) in Sidama-Hawassa, Shasemene-Oromia and Dilla-SNNP. Kefeta envisions Ethiopian youths who are game changers: empowered to advance their own economic, civic, and social development; resilient in the face of shocks; actively promoting development within their communities and contributing to the country’s peace and prosperity. Kefeta will strengthen the youth ecosystem in Ethiopia with integrated, multi-sectoral, youth-centred programming aligned with the Positive Youth Development (PYD) approach.

This role is responsible for facilitating the process and implementation of youth-led advocacy, meaningful youth engagement in youth mobilization and social behavioural change in the IYA project. S/he will be responsible for working with young people, partners and stakeholders to instil the practice of meaningful youth engagement and participation in IYA’s mobilization work, and provide support to build the capacity of youth on youth-led advocacy. S/he will manage communications, publicity and media engagements to influence policy and social norms for positive youth development. S/he will play strategic facilitation role for the overall proceedings of advocacy, youth mobilization and SBC activities in IYA and beyond.

The Advocacy, Mobilization and SBC Officer will provide guidance and facilitation to youth leaders and the Kefeta consortium partners regarding youth-led advocacy, mobilization, meaningful engagement and participation of young people throughout the Kefeta project activities.
